Kreš Miran

Miran Kreš graduated in 1998 under the supervision of Prof. Zdenko Huzjan, with a thesis on abstract painting. He held his first group and solo exhibitions while still a student and just after graduation. For a period of time, Kreš lived and worked in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he received considerable attention with several notable fine arts and multimedia projects completed solo or together with Dutch, British and French artists. His media include painting, graphic art, and installation, while colour, light and space, or their psychological effect on the viewer, make up the common thread that runs through his work. Kreš engages in exploration of artistic forms, with increasingly minimalist yet intensely manifested colours and shapes.

The key milestones in his career as an artist include the GAD project at the Biennial of Young Artists, Bucharest, 2005; special recognition at the II International Printmaking Exhibition, Istanbul, 2006; exhibition at the California Institute of Integral Studies Gallery, San Francisco, California, 2008; Project Berlin at the Factory-Art Gallery, Berlin, and MOP Art Gallery, Sydney, Australia, 2012; exhibition Illumination at the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2013; and Preliminary Design of an Experimental Art-Circling Spaceship at Kunstahaus Essen, Germany, 2016.

His works are part of public and private collections. Kreš lives and works in Ljubljana.
