"Jiři Kočica was born in 1966 in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. He received his B.A. at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 1991 with a thesis entitled ""Site-Specific Sculpture"" under the mentorship of profs. Lujo Vodopivec and Tomaž Brejc. In 1993 he obtained an M.A. from the same institution under the mentorship of prof. Dušan Tršar with a thesis entitled ""Sculpture in Duration"". He currently works as professor for design and decoration at the High School for Interior Decoration in Ljubljana and as assistant professor at the University of Maribor. Over the years he has successfully intertwined his pedagogical and artistic work in the form of workshops, exhibitions and articles on the theory of art published in various books and journals. Jiři Kočica lives and works in Ljubljana."
