Vesna Drnovšek was born in Trbovlje in 1973. She graduated at the Academy of fine arts in 1997. Her mentor was professor Andrej Jemec. She got her master degree in graphics (2001, her mentor was professor Lojze Logar). She lives and works in Ljubljana. The graphics of Vesna Drnovšek represent an innocent moment and enable us to experience real happiness in the neurotic world, where we are treated as objects rather than subjects. It is not a coincidence that her prints remind us of images painted on the wall, since they metaphorically reflect a wall or the inside of a wall. Only in this world it is possible that certain – seemingly unimportant things like a dandelion or a swing – turn into a solemn arabesque. After observing those images, the spectator is more certain that real peacefulness of the human spirit really exists. Nevertheless, the graphics also suggest that each person is responsible for his own peace and happiness. (Robert Inhof)
