Ivan Rabuzin
Ivan Rabuzin, born in 1921, is a wordlwide acclaimed artist who developed his own style of painting dubbed peindre a la Rabuzin. His works have travelled the world through many exhibitions in his native Croatia, Europe, the USA and Japan. Ivan Rabuzin was born on the 27th of March 1921 i Kljuc nearby Novi Marof. From 1945 to 1949, he works as a carpenter in Zagreb as he learns his trade in a carpentry school (1946 - 1947). His first independent exhibition takes place in Novi Marof in 1956 and in 1963, he has his first independent exhibition in Paris (gallery "Mona Lisa"). Up to date his paintings have been to more than 200 international independant exhibitions in Croatia and the world. Several hundreds art criticism, essays, studies and notes have been written about Ivan Rabuzin and his work, 13 monographies have been written and 10 films made. His paintings hold distinguished places in museums and private collections of naive art worldwide.
